Okay, so only through the special DVD site (dvd.starwars.com) which is only accessible through a PC because it requires the use of InterActual Player (PC only), can you get to a new Attack of the Clones trailer. On a PC with a DVD-ROM drive here at work I was able to see it, but not save it...it's not even in the disk cache I don't think because the QT file won't load unless you have the save in disk cache option off in the QT plugin prefs.

HOWEVER, from here <http://starwars.apple.com/ep2/dvd/sd/36k67k3gjrf7u/zE56k0sh56ugvb7s> you can download a 12.8 MB text file which is supposed to be the movie file...saves as SimpleText on my OS 9 system. If I add an .mov extension and/or change the type/creator codes, I can get the Finder to say it's a QT movie. But THEN QT refuses to open the file, as does the QT plugin in IE. Double-clicking the file launches QT Player, but then nothing happens, and the browser displays a "broken" icon after loading all 12.8 MB. Trying to open the file from QT Player's File menu returns an error of "this is not a file that QuickTime understands," and going through QT Player's Import function, it won't even see the file.

So what I'm wondering is if anyone knows how to resurrect a QT Movie file from such a text file? Do I need some sort of pointer file that points to this movie as it's source, even though the source won't play on it's own? Anyone who can help will earn his/her karma big bonus points.

Heres the deal

if you open the QT file in a text editor, you notice the whole bunch of 'x's followed by the C-. Those x's are supposed to be the file header (which doesn't exist in that 12.8 meg file). If someone can find the quicktime headers for this it'll work...I got the mov to open in QT player but it is just white..

HELP!

You're going to kick yourself, but just take that "white" movie and go to Edit -> Enable Tracks in QT player...

For those who don't know, replace the "x"s with:

00 00 22 C5 6D 6F 6F 76 00 00 22 BD 63 6D 6F 76 00 00 00 0C 64 63 6F 6D 7A 6C 69 62 00 00 22 A9 63 6D 76 64

to get that "white" movie.
