VHS => digital (iMovie + iDVD)

I need to be able to edit some video I am going to shoot.

The camera that I am using uses a VHS format, if I have one of thoes little analog to digital thingos that convert VHS => Digital, is it then easy to edit the fotage in iMove?

The fotage that has just been converted to digital are you able to edit it easlily.

Advice / Help would be great.

Advice / Help would be great.</strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="1" face="Geneva, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif">Once you've converted the footage to DV format you can bring it into iMovie and edit the same way you'd edit footage shot with a DV camera; the only problem might come if the converter uses USB and not FireWire to move the data onto the Mac, since USB solutions usually give poorer quality.

If I were to purchase one of these firewire (thingos ) which one would you sujest?

- Would it not only be able to convert analog fotage but could it convert say fotage straight from the TV.

-When it imports it is it in scences or is it in one big scene?

It would import in one big file. Scenes are detected by iMovie because they are put there by DV cameras when recording. VHS doesn't have this.
