To anyone,
I want to burn a bootable CD. Toast info says to install the System folder. Why the whole folder? There is plenty there that doesn't relate to the Mac system. Could I just use the System file? If not, how can I cut down the unnecessary files?
Also, Toast says it won't burn extended Mac system. i assume that means HFS+? True? My Mac uses HFS+. So what if I burn a bootable disc with the normal setting. Will it work at all on my Mac?
Thanks.

You don't need every file in the system folder to make a bootable CD. Technically you only need the ROM and Finder, but I would incude all of the other stuff like System Resources (and anything that looks important like that) and some of the basic extensions that you will probably need (like Startup Disk). Your Mac will boot off of an HFS or an HFS+ formatted disk. The difference between the two is efficiency in speed and storage space. Since storage space in negligible on a locked disk and speed is limited by your CD drive, go ahead and do an HFS formatted one.
