hello, i would like to know if anyone knows what is the name of the streaming service that iTunes 2 uses? Previously iTunes used Kerbango, but it has since folded. So did Apple start their own service or relies or some other company?

Thanks.

Well, I did a little sniffing with Interarchy, and iTunes contacts the host 'pri.kts-af.net' for its Radio Tuner. A whois on that domain shows that it's registered to Apple. So, I would surmise that Apple either has its own "tuning service," or it's relaying data from somewhere else. The data that it the server returns is in XML format, formatted to the kerbango XML NS.

Grr. I can't get UBB to stop messing up that "referral URL" line.

Anyways, if you visit http://pri.kts-af.net/, it says "HolyMoly!".

Good guesses, Petter. kts = 'kerbango tuning service' sounds right. This is getting more and more interesting.
