I updated from QT 4.1.1 to 4.1.2 and found that PictureViewer was not updated and remains version 4.1.1.

Is this right? Or did my update go wrong?

I didn't discover that until after I trashed my old QuickTime folder. I had to do a custom install just to get my old PictureViewer back.

How come PictureViewer has so little features in it? I have the Pro version of QT 4.1.2. When the carbon version of QT ships with OS X, will it have more features than just exporting and reading picture formats?

Object lesson:

When upgrading QT I always rename my old folder and hide it a bit, nested folders etc. 'cos I'm stupid and paranoid. When the new QT folder appears, I grab all the contents and move them to the old folder. You get the name same as...replace older with newer etc. but nothing that's not getting replaced gets deleted. Does that make sense?

I did the same thing, and ended up killing my precious Picture Viewer. Oh, I loved it so.

Anyways, how can I get it back? Do I have to dwnld the entire QT installer? Can I just get Pic Viewer?

Keda, use the QuickTime updater to custom install QuickTime Still Image.

Thanx for the replies! The updater worked.

The problem was that I use BBedit& Dreamweaver. For some reason ImageReady doesnt like to play with them, and crashes on launch. So, I end up using picvwr alot.

Thanx again
