I was tring to get the latest version of QT on my G4 by using the QuickTime Updater. Everytime I launch it, the computer freezes. I also downlaoded a new installer from Apple and had the same result. This has never been a probelm in the past.

ok... tho i have never seen this occur, i would start by (you guessed it) deleting the QT pref's file and restarting your Mac BUT be advised you will need to re-register QT after this procedure IF you have QTPro

a good place to start with any software-related problem (and some hardware ones too, come to think) is to rebuild the desktop and delete related preferences files or vice versa, whatever

Yeah I tried both of those ideas. The problem as with Norton Anit-Virus. O needed the upgrade to 6.01. It works fine now. Thanks for the help.
