QT4 Plug in doesn't work

What am I doing wrong. The Quicktime 4 plug-in isn't active in Netscape 4.x or IE5. I've tried reinstalling it every time I go to a site that says I need it, but no luck. Movies open up fine, though. Any help is appreciated.

have you checked your filehelper/protocol helper settings in your browsers?
