QT thinks they're wavs but as such their file structure would be wrong. They may actually be corrupted or their attritubes might just be wrong. If you get your hands on CreatorChanger(Shareware)
You can change the identifier from a wav back to a mov (using "make like"). Get your hands on this very handy bit of software, it's great for lots of little things like changing Premier/Media100(or whatever) qt.movs back into quicktime qt.movs etc. if you know what I mean.
It is also possible that the original QT.mov's were originated or moved to/from a PC, this sometimes gives rise to odd corruptions because PC files don't have data and resource forks et al. In which case, they may just be unloadable, not matter what.
