Hello

Maybe you can help me I have received my new Cube yesterday and tried to use iMovie. I was a bit dissapointed because I did not find it much faster than my old G3 B/W 350 and, more important, the image and sound are clearly dysynchronized. It happens when I play the images through the computer (camera connected to the cube)and when I play them back after recording. That's strange, I never had that problem with my G3.

My config is : Cube G4 500, geforce2, 128 MB RAM, VM turned on, sony PC100e.

Thanks for your tips!

Hi Robin,
Try restarting with virtual memory off and see if this fixed your synchronization problems... virtual memory uses the hard drive as memory and can cause many problems if it is being utilized at the same time that iMovie is using the drive for your dv streams...
good luck,
dave
btw let us know if this solves your problem

Thanks for your advice, it worked perfectly. The images and sounds are now perfectly synchronized. It is strange, I used to have VM turned on on my Power Mac G3 and it worked ok. Seems the G4 is handeling VM differently.

Great to hear! The other thing I forgot to include in my last message is that you might want to look into upgrading your RAM... it is incredibly cheap right now... 256 MB for $60-$80...
enjoy!
