Does anyone here use their Mac with their MIDI capable electric drums? I am looking for resources for doing so.

i do.
not much to it - i just plug the midi out from the drum module into my USB Midisport 1x1
emagic's soundiver is great for editing patches depending on the drum module you use. www.emagic.de

What do you want to use the Mac for? I am working on using mine as a sampler. I plug my Roland TD-8 brian into a MIDISport 2x2 USB, and then the rest depends on the OS you're using. For the most part OS9 is the way to go, since it has all of the programs at this point, with the exception of VSamp, a pretty good shareware sampler. To use OS9 you'll have to create a device in OMS, which is the MIDI operating system used on pre-OSX systems. 10.1 and, presumedly, 10.2 are much easier to use, but 10.1 is still buggy, and the programs aren't out yet.

Here are some things that I found that you might find useful. This site contains two useful programs for using MIDI devices with OSX, MIDI Monitor, which is great for diagnosing problems, and SysEx Librarian.
And here is another interesting program or two. Simple synth is also good for trouble shooting.
Another page on the same site has the most comprehensive listing of music software for x.
Granted, though, these programs are all for X, and chance are you aren't going to be using it right away. Samplers for OS9 include Native Instruments Battery (and soon, Kontact), BitHeadz Unity, VSamp, Waldorf Attack, and some others. Also, many programs have integrates samplers, such as Reason.
Hope this helped somewhat. Drop me an email if you want, I'm a fellow Mac-using drummer.

nice to see some drummers here!!!
I use my ibook and my 7300 with my midi man to trigger my sampler. I also play my Kat equipment into my computer using Finale and Protools.
What are you trying to do?
