I seem to be getting much better results from QT 6 Final than the public preview. Even video I encoded before looks nicer. Maybe I am imagining things.

I am currently encoding DV source and it's almost indistinguishable from the original at anything over 350K/sec (2800kilobits/sec). This is without audio but that adds what, 16K/sec? This is at full 720x480 or 640x480 resolutions.

Video at the 100-125K/sec standard MPEG4 320x240 rate also looks much better than the public preview to me.

Cleaner5 also does a MUCH better job of compressing with Apple's MPEG4 codec than QT's basic encoder.

Anyone else doing MPEG4 videos that aren't meant for the web?
I like to compress my DV movies and send them to friends on CD or DVD along with other materials, but I like to keep them full res which MPEG4 is doing nicely and the playback rate is really great with the MPEG4.
