QT Pro Sound Hiccups

I've been combing several QT clips (animation) with several sound tracks. They play OK individually but when I stick them together using Player Pro I get the odd stutter on the sound track esp close to the joins but also other places which didn't happen in the original. Any ideas of how to fix this or get arounf it?
Cheers

Did you butt join them(paste) or Add layers? I mean is the movie flattened or not, because if QT is playing a single track and suddenly hits a point where there are two(or more) tracks (an overlap), you can get a stutter when working with either sound or picture. Try exporting and flattening.
Also the Animation codec is virtually lossless that is, almost "none"compressed so has a fairly high bitrate. What machine are you using and how much memory have you got assigned to QT player?
What is the total size of the combined file and is it self-contained or saved allowing dependencies? (Allowing dependencies can cause hiccups).
If you can provide more explicit info we can probably provide more help?

Thanks for replying

The original sound was added in layers
using QuickEdit (shareware editor)
I then had three large QT movies (60Mb each)
which I then tried connecting together
using Player Pro since QuickEdit isn't very
quick in some circumstances :-) and I
had already had some problems using it.

Thanks for the advice. Flattening seems
to have disappeared in QT4 or at least
has got hidden away.

Animation codec? OK I look for that.
Can't say I've played around with the
compression setting much - as soon as
I do I lose colour transformations...
I have an iMac DV with 192Mb.
I've bumped up the Movie Player to 40Mb

160Mb always saved as self-contained

Thanks - you've been very helpful already.
I'll be cecking out flattening the movie
asap.

There is no FLATTEN check box in QT4PRO - Although there is a flatten option within MediaCleanerPro, within the QT4pro interface, flattening is achieved by EXPORTING as Quicktime movie and setting your compression etc. (although you could choose none), rather than just saving your file. This will reduce everything to single video and audio layers (unless you have specific MUSIC layers as opposed to AUDIO layers). This is pretty much guarenteed to clean and smoooth things up.
I assumed that the animation clips were using the animation codec, my mistake, they could of course be just about any type, sorenson or whatever. Hope that didn't cause any confusion.
Your (very nice) machine shouldn't have any trouble playing back and 40megs is a sensible amount to give QT if you're using it heavily.

I've played with the export and have achieved perfect sound sync now
- tnx. I also played around with codecs
and found it all very confusing.
I think I'll be able to do what I want now.
Thanks for your help.

tnx.
I still don't feel the iMacDV is as fast
as my B&w G3 300 - must be the cache or the disk system.
Sorta off-topic... I saw my first 20th Ann. Mac yesterday. I wonder if Sub will give sound as good as that!?
