I've been long in a search for a audo editing software or studio for mac. What I'm needing is something where I can take out vocals change pitches cut out tracks (channels) etc... etc.. Anybody have any ideas for this. I would be greatly appreciative of any help I can get.

You can download Pro Tools Free if you want to use the #1 program in the world for mixing/editing. Logic Audio kicks butt too.

Taking vocals out of a mix is usually a trickey prospect as there is no magic "de-vocalizer" - not that I know of at least. It's usually accomplished by cutting the frequencies of the vocal out completely. This is a problem since in most recordings there are other instruments/sounds that share the same frequencies that you are eliminating creating undesireable effects.
