While watching any movie (online within browser or offline within the player) my whole system will freeze. I have to do a full restart. I have tried removing and reinstalling, deleting prefs, rebuilding, zapping, Techtool Pro, switching browsers...nothing helps?? Anyone have any ideas...Apple is not responding to any posts on their QT support groups.

Try cleaning out your helper apps in the browser's preferences. I hate those things - they need a new way to implement those. You're probably having a plugin conflict. Do you have the same problem through QT player? It could be an extension conflict, too.

QT on it's own won't cause the problems you describe. The system file itself may be corrupted( as a result of a QT crash) leading to a reinstall of the OS(unless you have a saved copy of your system folder handy), I'm afraid. Because QT is so deeply integrated, serious crashes can have significant and wide-reaching side effects. To thoroughly replace QT you MUST first remove all previous trace of it, EVERYTHING! Nuke the site from orbit - it's the only way to be sure, and so forth. Look wider than just QT at this stage.

I'm puzzled by one thing though, is this browser only or just using the QT player on it's own? Have you ever installed Maczilla? or Hack TV, either of those would've been a mistake!!!

No i have never tried either of the non standard browsers. Today i also had a crash while listening to MP3's using Audion. So this could be a serious conflict that some how only affects sound or video. I may have to take a day and use Conflict Catcher. (It takes forever). Thanks for your help. it is still not resolved yet.
