So, I'm here at work and decide I'd like to spend my break checking out a couple of things at the Ad Critic and showing a coworker the Keynote from Macworld a couple of weeks ago.

I've downloaded and installed the minimum (and then I tried the "full") QT 4.1. I get an error of "#-2093 Please make sure you have Quicktime correctly installed."

What's this? Obviously I don't have Quicktime correctly installed... the error is useless. I did everything normally and it seemed to go through the same process it did when I installed it on my Mac. Most problems I've had installed stuff on Windows PCs before (but not this one) have been it gets stuck or screwed up updating the registry. So far as I could see it blew through that fine - or it didn't bother to tell me.

Anyway, I'm normally quite adept to fixing my own problems but I'm lost on this ones... and now I've got some people shaking their heads at the Mac/BSD guy who can't get "the best media client out there" to run on Windows.

I'm afraid I can't install it on another PC around here to see if it's something specific with this computer that I could find on my own.

Your download may have been corrupted (crazy as that sounds - you'ld think it just wouldn't work at all then!) and so essential bits are now missing but QT doesn't know they're missing, if you get my drift. Try downloading the installer again or pulling it off a cover disk instead.

I'm not familiar with whether there's an uninstall option on the PC version but if there is, run it and start from scratch or if you're PC proficient, read the installer log and remove EVERY bit by hand first!!!
