I have just downloaded an AVI movie, 167 megs (about), and the audio sync is terrible - the sound comes up to 5 seconds after the video... is there any way to fix this?
I have tried watching with QuickTime Player and WMP, and both have the same problem...
Is there any way I can re-sync it?

Not to move away from your problem but I can't even get avi's to play in quicktime(or WMP), it just opens quicktime but not a window. I also just downloaded some huge asf files and those also won't open in quicktime or WMP.

Are you using any particular codec's or plugins? I have quicktime 4.12 and in my extensions I have Indeo Video 3,4 and 5.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have had those problems - the avi format is just a package to put other stuff in really, so you can never compare 2 avi's unless you know they are the same.
Some avi's will play, others won't - if an avi won't play for you with QT Player, try using DivX and WMP...
