my QT won't work for web!

Since I've updated to the latest Quicktime, my QT web features no longer work at all, on both my G4 and G3. Whenever I go to a site with Quicktime features, Apple's for instance, I get that "click for plug in" box on any QT enhanced part, that just takes me to the QT download page which I already have. I'm using Netscape 4.6 on one computer and 4.7 on another, and have re-installed the QT Full version on both. I can of course use QuickTime as an application, it just the web plug-in that's not working. Any Suggestions?

I had the exact same problem and still haven't worked out the reason. However I did find a solution that worked for me, should work for you. Relatively simple, just create a new profile in Netcape (back up your bookmarks first and copy them into the new user folder) and it should work now. At least mine did. Hope this works for you

Thanks, that did indeed solve the problem, a bit of a pain in the ass though, I hate re-configureing browsers. Now I'd like to bring over my previous Inbox info, I can never figure out how to do that one, any tips?

I've had the same problem, but it has only been with Netscape, movies play fine in Explorer (much as it pains me to say).
This is the first mention I've seen of the problem. Haven't been able to find anything about it at Quicktime or Netscape sites.
I'll try the new profile route, thanks. But Apple and Netscape should be working this out fast, no?

The new profile isn't solving it for me. Anyone have any other possibilities? Thanks.
