Installed 9.1. It imperiously deleted MS Windows Media Player 7 Beta from my hard drive. Has anone else experienced this curious, monopolistic tendency?

How strange. Do you mean it replaced the plug-in because it installed new copies of IE and Netscape?

Maybe somebody should check this out who had Windows Media Player before their 9.1 installation. All I know is that there was a copy of MS Windows Media Player 7 Beta on my hard disk before I installed 9.1, and afterward there was no such file. I had to go and download it again. It's a stand-alone application like Quicktime Player. It can be downloaded from the MS Web site and it's required to view videos on a lot of Internet Web sites. Regarding IE and Netscape plugins, I wasn't aware of 9.1 installer including any browser software. I was under the impression that it's a system install only.
