Software Update not working

I have a cable modem through Comcast and ever since the changeover, I can't get Software Update to connect in 9.2. Don't quite understand it, because the connection is there, as I can get email and surf the net in 9.2. I am only booting into it so I can check for possible updates.
Software Updater works fine in OS X.
Anybody got any ideas? It just says, "cannot connect. Please check your settings and try again."

Try going to apple.com with your browser before firing up software update - there was an issue with this a while ago (difficult to describe well enough to search tho')
