The strangest thing is happening:

I can install software on my G4 from a CD or using another computer (iBook) in FTD mode, but if I download it, it will not install. StuffIt won't recognize it. I double-click to unstuff, but nothing happens. What gives?

try dragging the downloaded stuffit file ONTO the stuffit application...
dbl-clicking the file won't, in itself, unstuff it...
do u download a lot of files? do they unstuff automatically?
try keeping an alias of stuffit on your desktop!
