I recently bought a new ibook and want to print using my old Personal LaserWriter 300 printer. When I tried to install the printer software, my computer says the disks are unreadable. So, using my old Power Macintosh, I tried to copy the contents of the installation disk onto the hard drive and then onto a new disk. That seemed to work, but now in my chooser it prompts for modem or printer port (neither of which the ibook has). I have ordered a serial to usb adapter, but will the printer work -- I mean, will the computer be able to find the printer through the UBS adapter? Or should I try to get new installation disks? If I do that, where would I get them? Am I just not going to be able to use this printer? Sorry to be so globally clueless. Any help would, well, help.
