Just got my new iMac loaded with OS9 and then installed Mathematica. When I quit Math. the Finder quits and then must reboot on the system. Any suggestions ?

You probably have either Palm Desktop or GoMac installed. You will have to remove Palm Desktop. If that does not fix the problem remove GoMac.

I have been using MMa for a while with OS 9. There have been absolutely no problems at all.

Mathematica likes a healthy RAM partition, so if you have the RAM, you may want to bump up the allocations for both the front end and the Kernel.

Actually there is a big security risk with MMA under OS9. When running it under a limited user account, you can open a notebook file that is in a folder designated as read only. Well this is no biggie, but the problem is that MMA will allow you to save to that file. This is quite a problem, because this way you can practically whipe out all the MMA notebooks.
