Installed 9.1. It imperiously deleted MS Windows Media Player 7 Beta from my hard drive. Has anone else experienced this curious, monopolistic tendency?

Nope, but would be cool if it was designed to do something like that!
Install 9.1; the new OS removes all traces of Micro$oft from one's computer.

i don't think it's designed to do that, but you should consider this both a warning and a blessing and never touch that software again.
