best strategy to revert to 9.04

Suggestions on doing this without a reformat? I can live with drag-copying my Preferences. Which ones?

New info: I can't downgrade; tried: plain double-clicking on the Mac OS 9CD installer (haven't tried the disk that came with the Cube), starting up holding the "C" key, and selecting the folder in the new 9.1 Startup Disk Control Panel. No go. Wierd--maybe only the Cube Disk?

Anyway, 3 major issues: 1) either the QuickTimePlugin.class or SVG plugins are making Explorer 5 crash --haven't cared enough to see which one does anymore--and thought it was the Prefs). 2) Clifford's Reading CD can't find disk. I'm sure similar reports will come in on CD-based games. 3) Dreamweaver .gif bug.

Oh well; advice: backup your old System Folder! Don't be an early adopter.
