SETI 3.03 doesnīt run as a screensaver because it isnīt recognized at startup. In 9.04 its control panle used to show at startup but not anymore. It doesnīt appear its icon in the menu bar. I think it says something about not running if other screensavers are enabled, but none are. On a sidenote, it used to run units in 9-10 hours; itīs been 24 hrs and havnīt completed one yet.
System: iMac DV SE, 384Mb RAM, SETI data on RAM disk

I'm not sure about it running as a screensaver... you may want to try and reinstall the program. The newest release of SETI will run significantly slower... because of the overwhelming response to the program, the SETI people have been able to do many more complex mathematical calculations per work unit... this is an attempt to not only extract more of the data encoded in the signals, but it also relieves some of the server overload they have experienced. Hope this helps!
Cheers!

No problems with 3.03 as a screensaver and OS 9.1, other than watching my WU times go way, way up.

The seti@home site explains why 3.03 is slower. The screensaver works fine on my PB, B&W G3, and Rev A iMac, all with 9.01. I'd reinstall the software and see what happens.

Thanks for your help. I reinstalled SETI 3.03 under a new extensions set and is now up and running very fine. I also figured out that I made a mistake while placing the alias in the RAMdisk. Funny, though, that I couldnīt get SETI to load as a screensaver without Quicktime extensions enabled. Once again, thanks for your help.
