k sorry, im not sure exactly where iApps topics goes...so...

ok, ive got a BIG beef with iPhoto.
alright, if i import a photo that ive downloaded off the net that i called
"xyber233.jpg" why doesn't iPhoto use the name of the file for a title instead of those stupid roll 1-15 names.

i know it sounds stupid....but you try renaming 100 photo's to what the file name was because iPhoto decided to call it "roll 1-15"

Big waste of time

alright, that might have been a little confusing. does anyone know what im talking about here? am i missing something?

I just tried iPhoto for the first time and I experienced the same things you have. I don't have a digital camera that can been plugged into my Mac. So all my pictures are already on my hard drive with filenames. I've checked countless forums and it would seem we will have to wait for an update if we want iPhoto to keep the original file names. In the meantime, have you tried http://www.iview-multimedia.com? I have the pro version and it works very well. Good Luck.
