does anybody know how to have just the program icons on your desktop without the annoying grey bar below the icons that has the name in it? I tried getting general information and then deleting the name but it won't let me... Thanks for any input

Place the program icons at the bottom of your screen, then move them down until the name bar is offscreen. You may have to turn off "snap to grid" in the desktop view options.

Or create a custom font with some 1-pixel wide blank characters. Rename your desktop application aliases using the 1-pixel characters. It would still show a little.

OP Color and Title Free also in the ResEx
archive are a good combo, with title free you can easily turn the title back on from the contextual menu.
