TCP/IP Control Panel Help!

I have a Blue and White G3 tower. It came installed with 10/100BASE-T Ethernet built-in. So, I just got my DSL modem the other day. When I open my TCP/IP control panel I don't have the "Ethernet" option in the pull down menu. Is it not recognizing my built -in ethernet? Please help!

Have you checked that all Ethernet extensions are turned on? I don't use Ethernet and there are several extensions I have turned off, but I'm sure the Ethernet option is in the TCP/IP choices when the extensions are turned on.

Sounds like when you installed the system, you deselected the network software (it's enabled by default). To fix it:

Get your Mac OS System CD.

Run the System Installer.

Choose the 'Update' option and turn on the networking choices.

That'll install the networking components and should solve your problem.
