[Ekim Neems]

When I boot up, I get the white screen flash, then a folder comes up with a "?" in it, which turns into the Mac (tm) logo. Then it goes to the gray screen with the smiley face computer and just stays there and does nothing.

What can I do to fix this? I'm dual booting OS X and OS 9 but I'd like to just go into OS 9 for now.

hi Ekim,
have you tried booting from the OS 9 cd?
(this could be a serious problem, I had it once (but I think my problem was worse, because my iMac didn't go further than the '?' and the mac logo, a guy from apple came and solved the problem in about two hours).

Hmm, I put the OS 9 cd in and restarted and it just does the same thing. Do I have to hit any key combo or anything to get it to boot from the CD?

Reset the PRAM - Apple-Option-P-R at startup, let go after the third chime.
