IXMicro Ultimate Rez Card Crashes In OS 9

I purchased an IXMicro Ultimate Rez card for my Power Mac 8500/120 when I was using OS 8.6. I have since upgraded to OS 9 and have realized that the card crashes many programs in OS 9 such as Apple Works and some other popular software. I have upgraded to the latest version of all my software that I can think of but the problem still exsists. I currently have a fast graphics card in my computer that is totally worthless, what can I do to stop the conflicts?
