Ouch! Blindly installed and I've gotten nothing but beeps, glitches, quits and crashes. Try to run move than one program and they all complain there are too many files open! Huh?? I've got 500mb of Ram and lots of HD space open and we always ran more than one program before. Filemaker (FMP) c4 refuses to run, stating that more than 50 files are already open. Heck, not one is open yet!

Users beware....SPA

This is a limit of the OS, not of anything to do with MRJ.

Id suggest upgrading to OS9, and prolly even 9.1 to get rid of these problems

Then why did I never have this problem before? Until this installation, FMP, IE, Navigator, Emailer, Word and more all ran at the same time. Then, cabloohey! They all stopped loading after the MRJ 2.2.4 install.

Sounds like a sinister plan by Apple to make you upgrade...

Jeez, everybody's a comic!
This system ran just fine until the install. Dozens of files and programs running with lots of RAM and HD space. Suddenly, and immediately after the MRJ "upgrade" installation, the system throws a hissy fit! Emailer, IE and FMP all complain that there are too many programs running when, virtually nothing is running. And it never, ever, ever happened before. So I'm running 9.1 on five other Macss, but this one's got a GeoPort modem as my fax and voice mail machine and I can't switch without losing this flexibility..

So why don't you all grow up and be helpful instead of cynical and juvenile. This "could" be a real problem, for lots of users. MacFixit just posted a similar complaint........

OK OkBigKid, just chill out. First off, I think that what I said has some merit! You're using a Java upgrade on an OS that has terrible Java support (Mac OS) so it would be logical to assume that, what with the recent update to 9.1, that this upgrade is MEANT only for 9.x users. I could be wrong, but you are using a version of the Mac OS that is about a year or so old.

OK, I'll take a deep breadth and "downgrade" back to MRJ 2.2.3. Just thought some would like to know it could be a problem.
