I noticed that the extension for applescript is not loading-big red X throughit on start up. In conflict catcher noticed that there are 2 extensions for applescript. v1.3.7 and v 1.1 i am running os 8.6. is this why it is not loading? cant say i've noticed any problems but i would think both shouldnt be here. thanks. Eric

ps. while I'm here....I am using v 1.0.4 of carbonlib-should I be using a newer version? thanks again.

Remove the 1.1 version of the extension.

Stupid question of the day......

Is removing the extension the same as disabling it in the extension control panel?

No, removing it is throwing that extension to the trash. disabling it means the extension manager send the extension to a different folder (called Extensions(disabled) ) where it is not loaded during system startup.

Either way its the same.
It won't load at startup.
You can remove the extension to the disabled folder if you like.
Or trash it. Has the exact same effect.
Difference is Extensions Manager can see extensions/cdevs in the disabled folders and "enable" them.
Get what I mean?
