I was trying to get rid of previous tcp/ip preferences so I could configure for ADSL. I trashed them then reset the PRAM and now it can't start up. All I get is the blinking folder. I've followed all recommended steps: restart holding down shift; holding down c with OS9 disk in the drive; holding down space-- but can't seem to get past this point. The keyboard connection is secure and the computer should recognize these keys as being depressed (separately, of course) since I am starting up from the keyboard power button and the caps lock temporarily lights up (though its off).
I understand that it doesn't recognize the system folder but in order to resolve this I need to get past this point. The problem is with the alternate start up methods--they don't register. Why won't it let me start up?
