Hey,

I am currently without my Mac as it gets a new HDD, so to tide me over I took a bunch of Macworld back issues from the library and in one of them, "The Change Issue," there was something about how OS-X has gotten rid of OS 9's tab menus at the bottom of the finder window. I don't ever remember there being such a thing, though I can see how useful it might be. Is there a preference setting that allows for the feature? Again, I can't check on my own right now, but curiosity has gotten the best of me.

Please let me know if I am missing something. Thanks.
Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just.

Tabs on the desktop are pretty cool, simple to aquire as well.
Open a folder, and drag the window by it's title bar off of the bottom of your screen. At about the point that the base of the title bar would become flush with the bottom of the screen, the title bar becomes a tab. Clicking on the tab extends the menu up.
I have a few folders that I use frequently, set up as tabs. I have an Apple Script attached to each of them so if they accidentally get dragged back into a window state, they automatically return to the tabbed state.
Handy!
