Hello there... I'm running OS 9.1 on my G4 533 Dual, 512Mb RAM and I just did a clean install of the OS. I'm running a trimmed set of extentions and now, when I load an audio CD on the computer, it starts playing the CD w/o opening any application and when I try to eject it, it just freezes... any ideas of what could be happening?

Well, if I were you I would install the control strip again and use it to play your CDs. It should not use much of your system resources, and then I'm pretty sure you should be able to trash the Apple Audio CD Player (test this out first by placing it in the trash or by zipping the program).
If the CD is stuck in your computer you can remove it by holding the programers button down while restarting. This should bring you to Open Firmware (a white screen with text). Type "eject cd", and then "mac-boot" once the CD has been removed.

...or just hit the CD eject button as the system starts up...
With the control strip, turn off autoplay.
As for the freeze, are you sure its freezing, not just stalling?
Reset the PRAM.
