I fixed my OS 9.0.4 freeze at startup... needed to install Quicktime 4.1.2 and ATI 4.2 drivers before updating to OS 9.0.4 from OS 9.

I still can't get any CDROM's to show up on my desktop...
Any suggestions ???

My mas is a beige G3/400MHz 128 RAM.

Reinstall all of the CD ROM extensions. You know, the ones with the CD icon when viewed that way, not in a list view.
Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Yonkers can have better TV reception.
