my imacdvse continuously gets this error and is driving my crazy can anyone help please

I had this problem with a Wallstret Powerbook and OS8.6 Trashing the Finder Preferences and rebuilding the desktop helped somewhat but did not cure it. I also read of people having luck with disabling the ATM extention. For me, the solution was upgrade to OS9. Good luck to you!
