Ever since I upgraded to 9.2 I can't seem to use Toast. It doesn't recognise that there is a CD-RW connected? It seems to default to Disk Burner. I can't configure Disk Burner and it crashes when I burn at 16x speeds. Do I need Toast 5..Platinum?

I had the same problem. It is a conflict with Apples CD-Burning extensions. Try turning off those and see what happens.

I started toasting (heh) without any problems after that.

There is a conflict in extensions that's probably causing this. Go to Extensions Manager, disable USB Authoring Support and Fire Wire Authoring Support, and restart. This should take care of it. I had the same problem when I upgraded to 9.2.1.
