I recently purchased an iBook from Circuit City. It was an open box item. CC is not carry Mac products anymore. The owner's name that shows up on the computer is a bunch of meaningless letters. Is there a way to change this? I would like to see my name when the computer starts up. I deleted the user, but the computer still has the bogus name as the owner. Running osX. Thanks.

That is for OSX.

This forum is for Mac OS 9 and under.

Use the OSX forums, so aptly named, for OSX related queries.

In OS9, for future reference, you'd use the File Sharing control panel to change the computer name.
