I recently upgraded to OS X 10.1 (F-ing awesome OS BTW). Every time I try to Upgrade 9.1 to 9.2.1 (Booted from either OS 9.1 or OS X) my "classic" finder "Unexpectedly quits" on me!! Why is this happening? I did a clean install of OS 9.1 (after much trouble shooting) to see if there was something in my system folder that was getting in the way, but I still get the same result of the finder quiting. I've tried this from the CD and I've tried it from the downloaded version. I get the same results for both. Any suggestions?

Tried zapping the PRAM? (Apple-Option-P-R at startup, let go after the third chime).

Give that a go... if it doens't work report back.

The 9.2.1 installer, or the system itself, appears to have bugs - since installing it on a B&W G3 I've noticed the system seems unstable and no longer wants to talk to my CD-R drive.

One thing for certain, verified by two separate people in different countries, 9.2.1 trashes the Finder's preferences - most noticeable is if you have changed the default folder views, mid-size icons and relative dates are re-instated in list views.
