Alright folks...got a really mundane Launcher question for yaz...

My friend here has a 2001 iBook that she ordered through the school (UVM), and its all preset with all her apps, etc. The problem she's got is she can't resize her Launcher window. Is there a way to do this? The window is so big it would fill up about 3 1024x768 screens. Thanks...

Hey Hak, sorry but i don't know how to resize the launcher window...actually i didn't know people still used that. But why not turn off the launcher and use a tabbed folder instead? This is what i do and you can display your tabbed folder as button icons so it would resemble a launcher. Best thing about it is it saves you all your desktop space since it's only the size of a tab on the bottom of your screen.
Hope this helps,
Aric

Close Launcher (if open).

Delete Launcher Preferences (from Preferences/System Folder/Hard Drive)

Re-launch Launcher.

I just did this for a client a few days ago.

Position the Launcher where you want it, then lock the Launcher Preferences file.

That'll stop it happening ever again - its due to corrupt preferences.

I know this is an old topic but I have 2 macs with the HUGE launcher window. Have tried above suggestions but no luck. I am using imac SE and ibook (clam) SE both running OS 9.1 all connected thru airport with a dual G4 running 10.1. How can I get rid of it?(The size, not the launcher) Thanks

As I said nearly a year ago ( ), delete the launcher prefs, position it where you want, and lock the prefs.

That *will* fix it.
