Hi.

Some of you have probably already seen this, but for those of you that have not:

In finder, hold down the option button and go to the applemenu. Choose "about finder" on the top ( notice how it has changed to about finder and not the usual about this computer?). A picture will appear with a scrolling text!!!

I believe this is a picture from cupertino, right?

Oh...sorry, forgot. This works only for OS 9.1 and later...

before 9.1 it shows up a picture which is "a little more primitive" ?

Actually, the later the version of the OS, the more restricted this easter egg has become. There used to be another option where you could hold down a combonation of three buttons (I forgot what they were) and a box different from the "About Finder" would appear. They don't even have a list of the OS programmers anymore. I'm assuming this is a result of Steve Jobs's policy of leaving creater credits of their software.

In MacOS 8.5 or 8.6, if you hold down control-option-cmd and go to the apple menu, you'll get "About the Mac OS 8.5 Team…", which shows a full screen list of credits, along with a bunch of random icons.

Holding down Option gives you "About the Finder", which is a black and white drawing in System 7.x, but is a color picture in 8.x.
