I have a friend with a G4 400 AGP and 9.1. Weirdest problem, but it will no longer boot, the flashing question mark/folder just comes up. I had him boot with the CD and he gets an "Error Type 10 - try disabling some extensions and try again". This is strange! How do you disable extensions on a CD? I had him try holding down option at power on and zap the PRAM with no success with either. Anyone have a clue?

It sounds like your friend might have some bad RAM. If he has multiple pieces in his machine, try swaping out the some of it and see if it boot correctly.

Zap the PRAM too - hit the CUDA switch inside the G4, or take out the PRAM battery. Near the lower PCI slot. Can't miss it.

Had him reseat the RAM, hit the CUDA and pull the battery. One of those things (or all), did the trick. Thanks for the help!
