I upgraded my iMac 333 from MacOS 8.6 to 9.04. Now I cannot connect to my ISP using Netscape Communicator. When I open my modem control panel, I have no choice where it says 'Connect via:' Instead of offering modem port and printer port, it says ' no serial ports available '.

I called my friend and he told me that exactly the same thing had happened to him when he upgraded to OS 9. Unfortunately, that was an 'extra' computer to him that he didn't need it to be able to get online, so he didn't try to correct it.

Does anyone know the answer to this problem?

That is very strange... check to be sure that there is a file called "Internal 56K Modem" inside of your Extensions folder. Let me know what you find and I'll help you from there.
