It takes more than a minute to transfer 100k to iTools over my DSL modem. This makes it almost useless. Does anyone else see these insanly slow speeds?

I, too, experience very slow speeds with my cable modem. Sometimes it's zippy; sometimes it's too slow for my liking. It makes me wish I hadn't paid for the extra storage space. =(

I don't find it very fast either (cable). I mainly use it for daily backup of a few files, but I find it exteremely slow at connecting/updating windows.

Yes. I think the DL speed from the mac.com servers must be "choked" (or whatever the IT expression is) to something like a maximum speed for 56k modem.
Where I work in the UK we have a leased line which must be at least 128K, I have often used iDisk as a test area and have never ever seen an UL or DL speed in excess of 6kbits (usually 3-4)...
...which is pretty rubbish really -- in my experience most free web hosting will get you at least ISDN/ADSL friendly speeds...
And when you consider that Apple want to promote DV/iMovie/QT streaming etc., it starts to look a bit counter-productive really...
