Hello

i have a titanim 550, and my system keeps freezing up on me. i am not sure why. happens mostly when i am on the internet. i am using 0S 9.2, and i want to switch to try out the Classic, and am having trouble figuring out how to get that set up.

anybody out there know how to help?

i would use the apple care, but my 90 days is up, and i can't afford to buy the extra warranty until the end of the summer.

We'll need a little more info firstly.

Is there any pattern to the crashes?
By that, I mean, does it happen when you do a certain something, or it it seemingly random (though randomness doesn't exist, that's a discussion for another day <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> )?

Did your machine come with 9.2 on it? Try upgrading to the latest version of 9.2.x; if it didn't come with 9.2, go back to what you had before.

You say you've switched to OSX, and are trying to use classic? It should work automatically, once you are connected through OSX... is that what you mean? I'm not quite sure...

Can you tell us more about your setup? Running OSX at all? Modem connection, I assume?

well, i think i have things a little more figured out now. the titanium came with the 9.2.2 installed. yesterday, someone had told me to switch to the classic, and then i wasn't sure how to do it. finally after awhile, i realized that i needed to find the sofware that came with the titanium- and, after a very long search-- i found the software. So, i installed the OS 10, and can operate in the classic mode.

since the new installation, it did freeze once, while i was using the internet explorer in the classic mode. but i was able to force the quit. most of the previous freezes had occured when i was on the internet, using the internet explorer, and trying to quit out of it when the program seemed to be frozen. in the past couple of days, the internet explorer would automatically quit upon starting. and also the modem would keep disconnecting after just a few minutes or less, of being connected. i had a difficult time with downloads, as the modem would disconnect prior to the completion. . .

hopefully, now that i am using the OS 10 and Classic mode, i won't have as many difficulties with the system freezing up so often. (maybe there is a problem with the internet explorer software).
