I just purchased a Voodoo3 2000 PCI card. The drivers now support opengl, but does it have its own implmentation of opengl, or does it uses apple's? in other words, can I ditch the whole opengl 1.1.2 install?

No. You need the OpenGL from Apple. THe 3dFX drivers provide the interface between the game and the Apple OpenGL libraries.

You should use the OpenGL drivers from Mesa. Use the following link...

I found just after I posted that "Get Mesa" message yesterday that 3DFx had rev'ed their drivers and included OpenGL support. My bad...
