Hi folks.
Once upon a time we had Copy Doubler, which gave us the opportunity to copy only "new or changed" files, when moving a folder (or a bunch of files) to i.e. another computer.
Sure, it took a li'l discipline, but I found it very useful.
Did any of you guys remember? Did you ever use it? Is there and up-to-date version or another piece of software, that'll do the job?

I hate having to replace a complete folder of say 1 GB when all I really need is a few changed files to update the folder at "the other end".

I have partitioned my hard drives. On my desktop G3 I have a system, an applications and a data partition. On my Powerbook I have exactly the same setup.
At the end of the day, I want to be able top copy the complete data disk to the Powerbook to make sure I have the latest versions of what I'm doing, so I can work on at home if necessary. It also served as a temp back-up ... imagine coming into the office the next morning only to find burglars have stolen your baby ... eeeeewww.
Anyways ... CopyDoubler .... any suggestions?

Love,

A

How well does CopyAgent work?

Currently I am using file synchronization in OOS 9.0.4 and it is slow and I get error messages when trying to synchronize everything. I tired to use it to mirror my main drive but it doesn't work very well for that. I get a number of error messages such as "the desktop DB cannot have same creation date" etc.

Anyone relying on file synchronization might want to be aware of the unhappy meltdowns possible.
Search out the thread called something like "File synchonization is evil"
