I had problems starting my Mac (7100/66 8.1 OS). I have a home burned copy of 8.1 But it's not bootable(tried holding the "C" key). I got the Mac to start with a Floppie that I copied a toolkit.img file to but was unable to repair the HD w/FirstAide. So I cleaned off the HD and now I can't find the CDROM I can See it in first aide so I know its functioning.

What do I need on the floppie to start the CDROM when booting.

It's possible that the machine just won't boot off of a burned copy of the CD. You might try acquiring a legit copy of the OS. Also, you might try booting with the command, option, shift, and backspace keys held down. That was the trick with older machines.

You sure that the burned copy had the 'bootable' option checked (if burned in Toast)?
You need to designate a CD as bootable... just copying it or having a System Folder on there means nothing.
