Can anyone tell me how to delete individual items from the trash. I'm still fairly new to macs so am still a little bit unsure of which files do what. I've got some files in the trash that I know are safe to delete such as old mp3's for example, but Norton Utilities has put stuff in there that I'm reluctant to delete just in case.

If you have things in the trash that you don't want to (or are unsure about) trash, make a folder on your desktop (name it whatever you like), and move the items you don't want to trash to this folder. After that, you can safely empty the trash. I'm sure the things that Norton put in there are temporary files, but to be on the safe side, you can do what I suggested above...
